What does my cholesterol reading propose?
I had my cholesterol tested today by a pharmacist who then give me my readings but I'm not sure what they mean.
The info written on the card are as follows: 3.62 1.21 and 3.00
Does this mean I am ok or not?
I thought a level of 5 or 6 be healthy.
Does anyone know what my readings are and what they stingy?
Answers:
Ideally you obligation to have a cholesterol of 5 or less, so 3.62 is legally good but not as good as mine (2.94) but I don't close to to brag.
The others could be LFT (Liver Funtion Test) and CK. Normally they test for salt and sugar as all right.
You need to see your doctor if you want a full explanation.
Cholesterol--< 5.0 mmol/L Desirable rank corresponding to lower risk for heart disease.
High-density lipoprotein (HDL) 1.03–1.55 mmol/L Medium level.
Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) 2.6 to 3.3 mmol/L Near optimal level Source(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholesterol

The total cholesterol horizontal is made up:
* Your HDL (good) cholesterol level
* Your LDL (bad) cholesterol level
* Your triglyceride rank
It means that your full lipid profile is fine and within commonplace range. Total cholesterol needs to be <5mmol/l. The set of results you enjoy there is your full lipid profile. -LDL needs to be below 3 and the better the HDL, the better (1.2 or more), so whichever way around those readings are it's adjectives good.
