Familiar Hypercholesterolemia, statins and falling pregnant near lofty cholesterol. Please assist.?

Hi all, I have lived beside hereditary high cholesterol my in one piece life. I have be on statins (Lipitor and Crestor) for all of my adult go and always been mistrustful. My husband and I would like to fall pregnant but enjoy heard horror stories of birth defects and the cholesterol lowering statins. I enjoy spoken to three doctors and each suggest a different length of period to stop statins back conception - ranging from one month to six months! This makes a huge impact, have anyone else gone through this? I can't find any concrete time period. Thanks very much.

Most Dr recommend at lowest possible 4 months to get it completely out of your system to take away doubt, most companies won,t bestow a date but just say--

Women who are or may become pregnant: Pregnant women should not take generic Zocor because it may spoil the fetus. Women of childbearing age should not take generic Zocor unless it is highly unlikely that they will become pregnant. If a woman does become pregnant while on generic Zocor, she should stop taking the drug and have a chat to her doctor at once
