Does drinking alcohol lower your cholesterol?

One of the blokes in my office say he passed his cholesterol check with flying colours because he drinks regularly, and alcohol thins the blood. Is this true?
Answers:
Red wine
I think whine does that
dry red wine have many benefits for the vascular system. However the key is MODERATION
depends on what he/she is drinking
alcohol does thin your blood which make it easier for the blood to pass through the cholesterol blockages but that does not mean that it lowers your cholesterol and even if it did it introduces oodles more problems into your body than it solves, such as pserosis of the liver, and a beer gut from all the carbs Source(s): med student
Drinking red wine is honourable for the heart and reduces arteriosclerosis (the clogging of arteries in the heart) but over indulging will inflict you far worse problems then that. A glass a afternoon with a meal is said to be biddable.
